Anti Aging Skin Care Products – Can They Make You Look Younger?

Posted by: Ellie Graham  :  Category: Anti-Aging Products

If you are like a lot of women over 30, you are possibly starting to worry about the dreaded w-word – wrinkles. With the abundance of anti aging skin care products on the market, you have to ask yourself if there is any truth to what these products say they can do. Customer testimonials and a myriad of clinical studies have shown that yes, indeed, anti aging products can work, but ultimately you must decide for yourself. What are they purported to do, exactly?

Anti aging products come in several different formulas – creams and lotions being the most popular. In addition to revitalizing your skin and reducing the signs of aging, a lot of products purportedly stimulate the renewal of skin cells, reduce under eye circles, hydrate skin, and smooth rough texture all while diminishing fine lines and wrinkles! Revitol Complete is but one of many products that boats the ability to dramatically reduce the signs of aging, revealing a radiant, younger you! Royal Gold Anti-Wrinkle Serum in another product claiming to reduce wrinkles while leaving your skin fresh and hydrated. These are but a few of the many products available for older skin, so go ahead and look around to see what works best for you.

Once upon a time, these products were available only by prescription from a licensed dermatologist. Now, that’s obviously not the case and what was once prescription-only has now become mass-market; the reason being now they are made with all natural and safe ingredients. Typically, it can take up to 30 days for one to see results with these products. Some boast results in as little as two weeks, but in general you should wait about a month before you see any significant improvement.

Most skin care products designed for older skin have some basics in common. They all have one, or a combination of, the following ingredients. Alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids, argireline, Shea butter, and Edelweiss extract. Vitamin A, primrose oil and others can also be included, designed to give your skin the youthful and radiant glow it once had. Generally, after four to six weeks of continued use, you can see a dramatic improvement in your skin, possibly looking up to ten years younger than you did before! Sounds pretty amazing, doesn’t it? Of course, results are not typical and will vary depending on the individual. The bottom line is many people have seen promising results with these products, and the potential is there for you to, as well.

Avoiding the sun, quitting smoking, moisturizing daily, exercising and eating a healthy, balanced diet are all ways to minimize the appearance of wrinkles. In combination with these methods, using an anti-wrinkle cream will surely help to combat the signs of aging, and will be more effective when used with the methods listed above. Everyone wants younger looking skin, and there’s no reason why you can’t have it!

What Causes Cellulite?

Posted by: Ellie Graham  :  Category: Cellulite

The Causes of Cellulite

Have you ever wondered what causes cellulite? For some time it was assumed that cellulite was an obesity issue. But that was until we started seeing images of Hollywood superstars with cellulite on their legs and thighs. Cellulite is no longer thought of as a “fat” disease. So what’s the cause? Today we will explore the alternative theories of what causes cellulite and try to explain exactly why you’re getting that dimpled look you hate. We’ll also get into some treatment alternatives that help reduce the appearance of cellulite on your legs, arms, and buttocks.

What’s Causing Those Ripples?

There are several causes of cellulite, but the actual reason we’re seeing that nasty rippled look is because clumps of fat beneath the surface of the skin push up against our connective tissues. Imagine pushing something up soft against a sewage grate. Some of the material would push through the holes while others wouldn’t because the grate holds it off. This is similar to what’s happening under your skin and why you get the dimpled ripples that cellulite causes.

What is cellulite doing there?

This part isn’t cut and dry because their are so many different studies out there. What causes cellulite? Here’s a list of what’s thought to be the more common causes of cellulite.

  • Genetics
  • Hormonal imbalance (excess of estrogen)
  • Free Radicals (similar to causes of wrinkles)
  • Lifestyle issues (bad diet, lack of exercise)

Any or all of these could cause cellulite although the two that stand out the most right now are genetics and hormones. Since even skinny women (up to 95% of women have some cellulite issues) show signs of cellulite it’s hard to pin it on the over weight and lifestyle issues such as diet and exercise. The fact that cellulite could be a caused by your genes, while not making you feel any better, should allow you to rest a bit easier knowing this isn’t something you’ve done to yourself with lifestyle choices.

Rather then focusing on what causes cellulite, the better alternative is to consider what you can do about it now!

Reducing the Appearance of Cellulite

Several options are out there to reduce the dimples that appear because of cellulite. The most popular are cellulite creams, but we’ll cover three different alternatives below.

Exercise: You cannot directly burn off cellulite, like you can other body fat. How ever exercising, particularly where the cellulite is most prevalent is thought to tighten up the skin and produce more lean muscle in that area. This will reduce the appearance of cellulite in those areas. This form of treatment will take some time to show results.

Endermologie: This is a spa treatment for cellulite that involves rolling and suctioning the fat cells in an attempt to break up the tissue underneath. There’s mixed reviews about the results this cellulite treatment provides. One big down side is it’s cost, up to $100 per visit. It’s not a long term fix, but it does produce reasonably fast results.

Caffeine: Probably the most used treatment to fight the causes of cellulite is caffeine. It’s the main ingredient in most cellulite creams and works to dehydrate fat cells and shrink them. This tones and smooths the skin so that the cellulite is less visible.

None of these treatments permanently removes the cellulite from your body. They all require continuous work or use on your part, but they will reduce the look of dimples. The easiest treatment to try that gets results is a cellulite cream. It produces results in 3-5 weeks usually, and can be used continuously for long terms results.

Beauty Skin Care Product And Zen

Posted by: Ellie Graham  :  Category: Anti-Aging Products

It isn’t easy to live in a society obsessed with looks.  In fact, it’s near impossible.  Women today have been hypnotized by magazines and television and the almighty beauty skin care product.  Media tells us how to be.  And if we aren’t what they want, then they label us as ‘undesirable’.

But the fact is that we live in this society.  And if we don’t want to spend all our time fighting to change it (leave that to the younger generation), then how are we supposed to fit in?  Well, I find that balance is the key to everything.  I know it sounds a little hokey and zen-like, but its true.

Feeling beautiful and desirable goes a long way with me.  At my age, my confidence goes through the roof when other people ask me about my face or skin or hair.  But do I have to look like Angelina Jolie to feel this way?  Absolutely not.  I firmly believe that exercise, diet, and a little beauty skin care product is quite enough to give me the confidence necessary to get through the day.

Overdoing any of these is bad.  Everything in moderation.  So, with a little help from something as small as a beauty skin care product derived solely from mother nature (such as an aloe-based moisturizer or a Vitamin E extract), I find that it isn’t as hard as the magazines make it out to be to find the beauty that works for me.

For me, something as small as a facial moisturizer can be the difference between feeling good about myself and being in the dumps.  It’s as simple as that.  But I’m not about to go out and get liposuction or get a facelift because our society places so much value on youth and beauty.  I’m too old to be fooled by that nonsense!

In the meantime, I hope you all find your personal balance on this crazy merry-go-round that we live inside of.  My advice is stick to the little things (physical or emotional) that make you feel better about yourself and you will find that your confidence will carry you through the day!

Anti Aging Skin Care: Products and Practices

Posted by: Ellie Graham  :  Category: Anti-Aging Products

When a person reaches the age of early 30s, his or her skin naturally tends to age, the situation which is identified by fine lines, wrinkles, loose skin and large pores on the face. An anti aging skin care product helps in slowing down, stopping the development of and even reversing the aging procedure in human beings. Whether it is an anti-oxidant, a hormone or any other agent, or a facial cream, face emulsion, toner or a cleansing gel, these products are widely used by people all around the world.

Products for men are specifically designed for the male thick and touch skin in comparison to women’s delicate and soft skin. The first step to stop the aging process is to quit smoking, avoid alcohol, take a balanced diet and drink a lot of water. Taking regular exercise will also be helpful in reducing stress, which is the main source of hindrance in the process of normal skin care. Essential nutrients and vitamins such as A, C, D and E are also helpful in making the skin look radiant and youthful.

The skin of every person is different and each of the anti aging skin care methods work differently. One of the best ways to protect the skin from aging is to select the best skin care product, depending upon the type of the skin on which it is to be used. Preventing, reversing and slowing down the aging effects help individuals to live a healthy, long and happy life.

There are various methods of anti aging skin care including skin care products, herbal therapies, hormone replacements, vitamin supplements and laser surgeries. People are ready to spend huge amounts of money on these methods, but the sure shot method is yet to be recognised.

A good anti aging skin care product will firm up the loosened skin on the neck, face and throat, thus smoothens the face without the use of any medical or surgical treatment. Anti-aging facial is also helpful in getting a youthful skin. It is a combination of stroking, contouring and pressurizing the pressure points of the face, thus relaxing, toning and uplifting the muscles and the skin.

As people grow old, the muscles of the face become weak and the skin tends to hang down. The major problem areas where the first signs of aging are noticed are around the neck, eyes, jawline and the space between mouth and the nose. The various anti aging methods available in the market are effective in reversing the aging procedure and making the skin healthy, young and vibrant once again without the need of any cosmetic surgical procedure.

Just like going to a gym and exercising tones the muscles, similarly there are facial exercises that tone the skin and make the skin firm. Folding, bagging and sagging are usually caused because of lack of skin toning. Therefore, these exercises help in maintaining a soft, young and lively skin. Skin is the window to the person’s overall personality. It is the first part of the body that becomes visible to any person. Therefore, it is important to have a firm, clean, toned and blemish free skin. There are lots of anti aging skin care products available in the market, but selecting the best one is the most crucial point.
